It’s been a slow few quarters for freelancers since the massive rounds of layoffs this spring. Every month, I keep track of my pitching statistics so I can track my growth year over year. Here’s what it looks like with a yes, no and unanswered column.
Last month, none of my pitches were commissioned. ZERO. I still wrote eight pieces from stories assigned to me, copywriting and the previous month’s pitches, but I definitely muttered, “what the f*ck” a few times. It was a first for me and a sign I needed to switch up some pitching tactics.
